Training Journey

A progressive path to
independence

Fellows move from assisted participation to independent practice in three defined stages, each with its own supervision level and sign-off.

01

Observation & Assistance

Scrub in alongside the operator. Learn access, catheter handling and the decision points of each case before taking any of them yourself.

SupervisionDirect
02

Supervised Practice

Perform the procedure with the consultant scrubbed and present, progressing case by case as competence is demonstrated.

03

Independent Practice

Run the case yourself, with the consultant available rather than assisting — and continued access to the team afterwards.
